The Kansas Pond Society provides a service to its members by educating them in the care and building of water gardens.  It also promotes fellowship among people of similar interest.  We provide our members access to local suppliers.  The Kansas Pond Society Water Garden Tour invites the public to see what our hobby is about and educates them in the wide variety of sizes, shapes, themes, and landscaping choices that are available when building a water feature.  We are the only club of this type in the Wichita area, and we are also the largest gardening club in the same area.  We are active members of the Garden Council, an organization comprised of various garden clubs, and which promotes all forms of gardening.  We communicate and share information with other water garden clubs in central United States.  Most of our membership is from the Wichita area.  Many of our members continue thier membership year after year.  Our water garden tour has been featured in the Wichita Eagle and other newscasts over the years.  We also provide service announcements on local radio stations.

We are administered by elected officers who serve two-year terms.  The offices are:  President, Vic-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Our main source of income is from membership dues.  Membership is $20.00 per year per household, starting January 1 and ending December 31 of that year.  Due to rising postage and printing cost, any new member starting in March 2022 who wishes to receive a printed and mailed newsletter, will have an additional $5 charge to their membership fee.  This will apply to existing members beginning January 2023. With your membership you will receive a discount at several Wichita area business, with discounts ranging from $50.00 to 25% , all of which are published in our newsletter.
